Ambala Healthcare & Welfare Society is an independent, non-governmental, social development organization registered with Registrar Firms & Societies, Haryana. The society has been founded with a mission to provide accessible & affordable quality health services to the marginalized sections of the society.
With the State spending of less than 1% of GDP in Health sector, the larger section of our society is not able to access & even afford basic Health services. Poor Health not only affects the efficiency & effectiveness of the human resources, but also aggravates the problem of poverty and hunger, thus, hindering national development. Recoganising this lacunae, the individuals from local community under the guidance of Smt. Shakti Rani Sharma have come forward and formed Ambala Healthcare & Welfare Society with a specific focus to address the problem of availability, accessibility & affordability of Quality Healthcare services.
Based on the foundational idea that "Health" is not merely the absence of disease but a state of complete physical, social and mental well being, the society works in the following two thrust areas.
Providing Availability, Accessibility and Affordability of Quality Medical Consultancy, Aid and testing facilities to the most marginalised sections of society through Mega Health camps at rural and urban levels.
Organizing Awareness Campaigns in regard to
o Community & personal hygiene including proper sanitation & cleanliness
o Immunization of Children, Pregnant & Lactating mothers
o Social ills like Female feticide
